Program Overview
Curriculum Overview
Our program is centered on an interactive, cohort-based learning experience over 28 weeks, to become a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. The program consists of:
Phase 1 – 10-Week Curriculum = 88 hours
Phase 2 – Practicum = 25 hours. Includes 50 thirty-minute coaching sessions for NBHWC (National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach) Exam Application and faculty feedback.
Phase 3 – Exam Study= 80-120 Hours

Toivoa Coaching offers scholarships for military, military spouses, first responders, health professionals, and teachers to become certified health and wellness coaches, including MyCAA-approved programs.
Training
Step 1: Students complete our 28-week NBHWC-approved training program, designed to equip them with foundational coaching skills and specialized knowledge in mental health.
Practicum
Step 2: Students complete 50 practice coaching sessions (each 20 minutes or more) to hone their skills and build confidence through real-world experience
Certification
Step 3: Students sit for the NBHWC national certification exam and typically receive results within 6–8 weeks.
Hiring
Step 4: Once certified, graduates may be invited to interview with our partner, Toivoa, which offers employment opportunities for select NBHWC-certified coaches.
